Ten years ago, a group of people in Ireland came together to try to reduce their overall carbon footprint by building an ecological community. They looked at how they could incor-porate sustainability into every aspect of their lives how they could build and power their houses, how they could earn their living, how they could travel and grow their food.
It's amazing how humanity could only cope with "modern living" for a generation or two, before we start to break free from it and go back to natural, sustainable living.

Love the village project, I've been following it's progress for a number of years. If I had the money I'd buy a plot of land there and move down in a heartbeat, but alas...:(
@Crunchy-if you go onto their website thevillage.ie you'll find out a lot more information about it.

Very cool. How many people does that 40 acre farm feed? I don't think this clip ever mentioned the exact population of the ecovillage, or explained whether there was a lot of excess produced on the farm that fed people outside the ecovillage. So I'm trying to determine with the allotments and the pasture, etc. how big of a village it could sustain all on its own.
