With leading Presidential candidates turning up the heat on overpaid CEOs, a new report from the Institute for Policy Studies and United for a Fair Economy documents for the first time the extreme pay gaps that have opened up not just between U.S. business leaders and American workers, but between U.S. business leaders and leaders elsewhere in American — and European — society.
hey PEOPLE, most CEOS aren't overpaid. However, some governmanet workers (state or federal) are. EG my high school activities director lol maid 40,000/yr during the 1990s. the position was made up. Plus it is harder to fire these people. Now real teachers cops fireman and other emergency workers earn their money.

What CEOs' paychecks say is that they can get someone else to voluntarily exchange hundreds of millions for their services and other types of workers are unable to get someone else to voluntarily exchange nearly as much for their services. Paychecks do not represent how much esteem society has for different types of labor. It is costless to say how much someone else ought to be paid. It is the amount of real money someone parts with to get your services that indicate the value of your labor.
