This was a time when American cars were well ahead of anyone else out there, including European cars. They where durable and luxurious, and relatively cheap for what you got for the dollar. He's already talking about 'Turbo' a term not heard in Europe yet for decades to come.

The Motorama Era with Chevy went between 1955-1960 when panoramic wrap-around windshields and Jet-Age styling were both the norm, much like when the Forward Look went with Chrysler during those same years.
