Fifteen year old Harald Olsvik playing C-jam blues. This is a great Duke Ellington song, that I enjoy playing. The sound is not too good, mostly because of my camera, but please comment and enjoy

  • all imporovised? very very very good ;)

i must play a solo on this piece for a concert so can you explain me the scales that you use?

    thanks

  • Thank you. I would advice that you stick mainly to the C blues scale, but i would advice you to stay clear of the minor third ( b3) in that scale. You can use that scale over the whole tune. You can also try to use the major third (3)instead of the minor third b3). Just ask if you wonder about more things.

  • very very good, can you post the tab please?

  • thanks a lot

I don't have any tabs, it was all improvised, exept form the melody. I hope that you can figure it our for yourself. It's a blues in c, and i use the c mixolydian and blues scale a lot

    good luck
