@maroon011 Mostly in Abrahamic religions, not in Hinduism and Sikhism and maybe Buddishm I believe and other Dharmic religions.

Does this man want to abolish Religion or all belief in a supernatural creator? Sounds like he wants to do both. He wants to end belief in God and have everyone believe in science. Yet he admits he was WRONG in thinking “science was rolling back religious belief”. Well, anyone could have told him that. Brilliant! Maybe Dawkins should ponder WHY he was wrong, and he might gain some real wisdom about something. Until then, he should just stick to discussing evolution.

@yourtreat2 .....and the only candidate so far who had the gumption to stand up against the NDAA that threatens your freedom and Constitutional rights.

@coach8401 Look I made my research, about evolution, dating and faith. I propose you just try to drop your dogmas and your preconceived ideas and you research too. You'll probably come to the same conclusion as me but I know I cant convince you on that point, especially not over youtube.
With that said I suppose that if you're a peaceful person and you take joy in religion there's nothing wrong in believing something thats not necessarly true.
Have a good life friend

@Adleist As for theism being a personal belief, you are true in some point, but it's not all correct by saying that. Science is presumed to be correct and in return is based on a personal belief as well and not completely on evidence. Making a guess and having some people agree with you is not evidence for me. I prefer to rely on evidence from history more than anything, because it has taken place and doesn't change.
-
@Adleist Just because there are different datings available, doesn't make them all correct! It's like me saying, there are different religions out there, so there must be a creator. The earth has changed a lot in 20 years showing we quickly evolved and adapted disproving darwins slow phase of evolution. As for personal beliefs, theists and athiests have the morality code in common, the only difference is we believe in the creator, you deny it.
-
@coach8401 Wow
Ok first of all carbon dating isnt the only type of dating available. There are other means that date things way older than 50,000 years old. Second point, earth has changed A LOT in the past 20 years. Third point religion shouldn't be teached to children because, like politics, it depends on personnal beliefs and values. Science is not based on beliefs nor value but on evidence.
-
Why is it that it's hard to accept that the earth is only 50,000 years old when carbon dating is used to carbon date up to 50,000 years? I don't know, the earth, land, weather, technology, etc... has changed so much within 20+ years, why not in thousands? The reason would be because the thousand year concept doesn't support many scientific theories. As for Dawkins saying kids are taught religion, it's the same as children are taught science since they are little.

@yourtreat2 the only religious assholes are the illuminati hahah
-
@yourtreat2 why was that directed to me? I am completely correct in stating that the definition of "theory" within the scientific community is radically different then the one amongst general society.
I have no idea why @2paacalipse mentioned the illuminati, because theyre completely irrelevant.
I always wonder why are people so sure that animals just die and cease their existance while human beings necessarily have to be transmutated beyond their death

If someone were to write the bible today they would be considered(and rightfully so) a racist, mysogynist, child abuser... among so many other things.
How can society still want to follow it?
