Iron Giant, We're Back, Atlantis crossover

Cast:
Louie- Young Dean
Helga- Dean's mom
Rouke- Dean's dad
Dean- himself
Hogarth- himself
Mansly- Annie's new beau
Annie- herself

Goal:

As soon as I heard this song I knew it'd be perfect for a "you can survive anything" message. So, I made an anti-child abuse video.

Story:

Dean had a rough childhood, his dad (Rourke) physically abused both him and his mother (Helga), but one day when he receives a particularly gruesome beating, Helga decides she's had enough and fights back on Dean's account. Both she and Dean's father die from the fight (she from repeated hits and he from a gunshot). Dean grows up and tries to put his past behind him, but the memories haunt him continuously.

Hogarth's father died during the war, leaving Hogarth and his mom, Annie, to fend for themselves. Out of loneliness and desperation Annie is constantly bringing new men into the home. Her current love interest, Mr. Mansley, abuses Hogarth but she's unaware of this fact.

By chance Dean and Hogarth meet in a diner while Hogarth's looking for his pet. They overhear the locals badtalking Annie and Dean gives Hogarth a piece of advice.

Later on, Hogarth is serverely beat up by Mansley and he runs away to the one person he somehow knows he can trust. He tells Dean everything and Dean immediately confronts Mansley, revealing the truth to Annie. Mansley ends up leaving peacefully, and Dean steps in as Hogarth's best friend and hero. The cycle of violence ends!

Yep, there ya go.

  • Hey... i just wanted to say you made a really good video. For a really good reason.

I love Hogarth. Thank you for making this.

  • @Girlwiththehair77 Thank you. :) I think it's important to vid things like this. You're very welcome!

  • i know this isnt my place to have a sob fest but i just wanted to say that this brought up memories of my family troubles. after my brother got cancer my mom lost her patience with me. i remember that when i was in kindergarten i would walk about 4 blocks to school everyday. i would make my own breakfast and there was no one there to wish me a good day at school. i had problems in school and even to this day i still do. i was so neglected that at 7 years old i was only 37 lbs... sorry

  • @JessicaHeartsCain Don't apologize :) In some way I feel like I should be the one apologizing for unintentionally making those memories resurface. This video's about hope, so I do hope that it brought you that as well. I'm sorry for what's happened and what is still happening to you and your family, but I want you to remember that the sadness and struggle will pass. God's looking out for you, whether you feel Him there or not. Keep fighting, praying and hoping. Your pain will end, I promise :)

  • how;d you make the bruise

  • @retrofunky123 I put the same clip on a layer above it, made it darker and masked a circle around the eye

  • Great, now everytime I hear that whole song at the end I'm all "HOGARTH NUUUUU!!!!!" D";

  • My heart exploded. :'(

  • Beautiful storyline. Great video. It's very unique from other crossovers I've seen.

  • This was very touching. Thank you for sharing you talents and strong message with the rest of us. Good luck in all you do in the pursuit of all that is good.

  • so good :) I cried a little. My mum's an alcoholic and it's so sad when adults have problems but make their children suffer for it. Love to all xx

  • @JessicaHeartsCain I understand completely. My father was abusive, just like the father in this video, and my mother didn't do anything to help us. Even now at 16 my older brother is the only parent I have. Don't apologize. Talking about it is good, don't let the silence consume you, abuse and neglect is the crime, talking about it isn't.

  • @xNightshadex thanks Shade you always give the sweetest replies.

i havent lived with my mom for quite a while. well at least since my brother died anyway. i dont feel the pain anymore. i like to let people know that its all around them and if i have to bring up the sad reality that it could happen to ANYONE well then maybe my job was done. i talk about it with my friends lots and i sometimes like to joke about it even if its a very serious situation. i've gotten past the hurt of it.
