I think your method of qualifying (or disqualifying) potential room mates was not entirely unfair, as someone else has said- there are worse things to be a snob about..
it's a good way to quickly assess whether or not another person is a reader or not. Readers accumulate (lots) of books and tend to have ideas about what is a good book or not, whereas non-readers tend to have very little in the way of reading material. (sadly, I know some non-readers who got some fancy gold-leafed editions of Ulysses and Alice in Wonderland and just let them sit on the shelves)
I'm am also a bit of a book snob, you are not alone. It is terrifying how little people actually read nowadays. I don't read nearly as much as I should anymore and I feel really bad about it. Sure judging people based solely on their literary level isn't a good thing, but it certainly isn't the worst flaw I've heard of having.
You know, I'm sure this comment had a purpose when I started it, and now I feel like I lost it and I can't think of a good ending, so I'm just going to trail off now.....
@MachMakModMus Hey, lay off the medieval weaponry snobs. We know how to kill you better...as long as you don't have any guns...bit of a flaw there really...
ok, you are not a terrible person, I do the same xD "Ah, I don't like reading"- if they say that, I will immediately like them that much less. I mean, if someone just doesn't read as much as I do that's no problem, but if they simply hate books then we just can't be as good friends.

There are a lot worse things to be a snob of. Like, say, cigars, or...medieval weaponry, I dunno.
Now if you'll excuse me, I feel like I need to go update my Facebook profile and put every book I have ever enjoyed ever on it.
