  • @baghdadbackpacker I'm have a huge moral issue with bombing civilians, but had this day not happened, and literally tens of millions of people would have died including far more Japanese civilians than died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the invasion of Japan (which IS what would have happened, without a shadow of a doubt), you might have a different idea of it then "worst day in human history", same goes if the Japanese or Nazis would've developed the nuke first. Someone was going to.

  • @deputydillhole

Actually glass flow is a well debunked myth. While it is an amorphous solid, and it does not have a definite "freezing" point in the classical sense as with crystalline solids, the time it would take for glass to "run" the amount that thats shown in the old cathedrals would've taken longer than the age of the universe.

  • @Caretika glass actually isn't completely solid....some people questions whether it should be classified as a solid or liquid....it still moves after shaped but exremely slowly....if you look at old antique windows the glass will be warped....old stained glass windows will have thicker glass at the bottom than the top due to gravity...i imagine glass from that time period would look as if it had melted by now but probably wasn't ever subjected to extreme heat.

  • Anybody know how far were they from the detonation site? Also, anybody been there since? I mean anybody else besides the government/military. I wonder how much glass is still there and how deep it is. I read a few months ago about some molten glass found in the desert where the historical Sodom and Gomorrah once were and some pottery along with other stuff that indicated the reign of King David. What else besides an atomic bomb or volcano could do that.

  • Duct and scotch tape butt, it didn't stick very well.. as far as they could tell.

  • Yes indeed, there was tape on it! The narrator gets the date wrong though. The Trinity test took place on July 16, not July 29, 1945.

  • was there tape on that bomb?!

  • These men were standing on ground zero unprotected. Cause at the time they had no clue of the dangers of radiation.

We can't just say we were stupid 'then'. In what ways are we being stupid 'now'?

Scientists are still playing with things beyond their abilities to control.

Proof that 'intellect' and 'smart' are two different things.

  • You're mostly Right- That is I agree with what you are saying here.. But so to speak, it's only secret, because people won't open their eyes! But Truth be told, there is simply a handfull of people "running" this world.. But further Told- There is something far beyond anything we can even fathom going on, behind the behind. These corporations and people in power are being fated-destined-progressed towards this apparent destruction and chaos for a reason.......
