Achtung Baby is the seventh studio album by U2, released in 1991. Stung by criticism of their previous album, Rattle and Hum, the album was a calculated change in musical and thematic direction with the incorporation of alternative rock, electronic dance music, and industrial influences. It was the bands most dramatic change since The Unforgettable Fire album (1984).
Sonically, the band referred to the album as the sound of four men chopping down the Joshua Tree. Thematically, it was a more inwardlooking and personal record; it was darker, yet more playful than the bands previous work.
Commercially and critically, Achtung Baby has been one of the bands most successful albums. It produced several hit singles in One, Mysterious Ways, The Fly, and my favourite So Cruel, has sold 18 million copies worldwide, and won a Grammy Award. The album and the subsequent multimediaintensive Zoo TV Tour were a crucial part of the bands 1990s reinvention.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 62 on Rolling Stone magazines list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

is this song about a guy who loses his girl to another girl?

According to some "experts", this song is about desolate complaint of a lover who has been betrayed and betrayed again, yet still remains with their tormentor. Later in the song, though, the narrator finally realises they will never again find happiness with the person ("to stay with you, I'd be a fool"), and dumps them.

This song has been rumoured to be a sort of thing where it would be The Edge singing this to Aislinn, who were divorcing around the time the song was written.

many songs that make you look into your dark abyss are difficult but this song has a sense of confession, admission and closure to it that made this song my anthem. I've seen U2 six times live and the acoustic version of this song really jams.

I love this song. Cant pick my favorite(too tough to pick just 1) by u2 but its up there.I also love Until the End of The World "off the same album. The lyrics are great. I wish i could find a live version of this song with video. There is one out there but it is not complete and is missing so much.
