"Hey Doublers (and welcome to visiting Hicks fans),
Oh yes; we've pulled in the 'A' team. Rob, Nick and Tara are all here.
Exciting times as this week's episode features a previously unheard interview of the much-missed comedy legend Bill Hicks by a very young Nick Doody from the stairs of his student house back in 1992.
Bill talks about his obsession with UFOs, the "Dylan Approach" to comedy, and gives tips on giving up smoking. He also asks Nick to support him in Oxford. Listen in to see how that worked out."

  • @gibbsies Not the big guy in the sky for dam sure. He listened to the god that inside all of us. I am my own dam god.

  • thanks for putting this up !

  • To me I always guessed that Bill's view sounded rather pantheistic

  • @gibbsies Maybe he was being sarcastic? Or trying to sound ironic.

He was spiritual based on the acid trips/mushroom trips he had.

  • @nedak i dont mean this interview specifically, but in one of his shows (i think it is either sane man or one night stand) near the beginning he kind of sings the words "there is a god. he loves us all so much"

im not saying ur wrong or anything, it just confuses me at times

  • @gibbsies He's saying this based off of "if there is a god".

  • @nedak i guess its just his terminology in some of his shows where he talks about there really being a god and him loving us all so much. i know hes against organized religion thats obvious lol i guess spiritual would be the better word

  • @gibbsies He was not religious at all. He hated organized religion.

I would easily say he was spiritual though.

  • @nedak hmm, ya i suppose so. sometimes he makes me wonder though if he actually did believe in some form of religion

  • @gibbsies I would say agnostic.

    Nedak
