Refugees Turn To Prostitution

The war in Iraq has created more than 2 million Iraqi refugees. Elisabeth Palmer reports on the choices some female refugees in Syria have had to make to take care of their families.

Sure it is a horrible thing, but what country invaded Iraq in the first place and caused these women to become widows and orphans and forced them to the lead of prostitution? Prostitution wasn't THAT big before the Americans invaded Iraq and other countries. So before you start your anti-arab propoganda, see the big picture!

Refugee prostitutes can be seen in Red Deer, Alberta, one of the main places trafficked refugee men and women are seen plying their trade or arrested in sweeps. Human trafficking rings operate in Edmonton or Calgary. Aware that they will be expected to prostitute and as they have been indoctrinated in their home countries through rape and abuse are willing to enter the sex trade here. Child abuse, dependent adult, and senior abuse is also conducted by Gov't trained trafficking "victims".

 Slaves were taken by force and did NOT have a choice as to being a slave or not.

She does not enjoy the rights of property or inheritance like how a married woman does. Her only job is to sexually please her mate. This is done by her choice, not force. Slavery on the other hand, was when people were captured or kidnapped when towns became rioted or during war. Those people were often the spoils of war and were taken as slaves and sold in slaves markets. It was not on basis

of color as that of the North Americans.

however, it is not socially acceptable. In the past, throughout the world, slavery in all forms was a

norm in society and the Americans know that very well since they were large buyers of slaves from

Africa themselves ( only 250 years ago approximately!) Concubinage is different from slavery. Concubine

is when a girl or a woman usually of middle class or the poor of emense beauty has an opportunity to live

and enjoy the luxuries of another man who could be married.

You are absolutely incorrect. The verses you quoted are also taken out of context. You need to understand that slave markets existed all over the world like in the Roman Empire to the Greeks to India and so on and so forth. Today, America is the largest country that has the highest demands for sex slaves which in modern times is called 'human trafficking' . Today however, it is illegal but there are several black markets for this kind of business.

The fault here is on the Muslim practice of concubinage. Change the Quran with something like a New Testament but for Muslims and make the religion better.

Prostitution is not only allowed in Islam, but required in most cases(Sura 23:6). They usually call it concubinage, but it's the same thing except that the concubine doesn't get a choice. Saudi Arabia featured major slave markets where concubines were advertised. It was the norm in Iraq before the US invasion. Saddam had thousands of prostitutes over his life.

The US invasion of Iraq helped the Iraqi people immeasurably. The blood of the dead is on Saddam's hands entirely.
