1977 Ford LTD II Brougham

My new toy, a 1977 Ford LTD II with a 302 V8. Bought at the Clinton Auto Auction on 10/17/09. The LTD II was built on the discontinued Torino platform from 1977-79 and was sold alongside the regular LTD. originally Ford called this their mid-size car, even though it's not really any smaller than the regular full-size LTD. Basically it's a Ford Thunderbird with a few minor differences.

Hey, I have a 1977 LTDII 2 door. I posted a video response of a song I made, but it has me driving around with it. Mine had a 351m in it, but I put a 460 in it, dual exhaust, 3.70 gears, new 4 barrel carb, new rims and tires. Mine is a brougham also. These cars didn't have big blocks as an option, but the torino did, so you can easily put one in. They are fun cars, enjoy it.

I need to pull the engine out of this one and do some work to it. That sticky lifter is really annoying and I need to replace the pan gasket because it leaks pretty bad. Ideally I'd like to find a 351 Windsor or a 302 HO out of a late model mustang for it.

Nice car, looks so big compared to all the newer ones on the road. Believe it or not, they used this car in the 1980s TV series "Highway to Heaven" starring Michael Landon.

i dont understand why they had two LTDS? this one and the one with the hidden headlights? why not just make one car, whats the difference? both are huge with V8's?

what do you mean ford did some wierd stuff?....no different then the mid size gm's of the day ..get into a 76 monte carlo or a malibu and it was the same car...and the olds cutless ..pontiac...buick..they all shared the same basic design
