Tennessee Aquarium visitors can observe a feeding frenzy inside the Secret Reef exhibit. Each day at approximately 3:15 pm, thousands of reef fish are fed in the saltwater exhibit. Several different methods of feeding are used to ensure all of the animals receive proper nutrition. When chopped seafood is broadcast into the top of the tank, a small-scale feeding frenzy breaks out. Jacks and chubs are among the most voracious feeders. Visitors can also observe the toothy sand tiger and sleek sandbar sharks feeding on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Visitors are encouraged to see Wild Ocean 3D at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater to experience being in the middle of a virtual feeding frenzy with sharks, penguins and whales.
