Soul Calibur IV: Me in Story mode

Join me as I go on a quest for the ultimate sword: Soul Calibur

I created myself in character creation using Yun-seong style and went onto story mode. A custom character's story path is random cos when I first tried it I took the Soul Calibur/Edge path. This time it's is the Soul Calibur path.

When you are going to do a critical finish, Do: -> B+B WITHOUT running. That attack includes Guard break.

Wasn't there was this alliance (or something like that) option in the character creation menu? (i.e. if your character is good, you'll take the Soul Cailbur path in the story mode or was I mistaken)?
