  • @arb1976 Because it opposes the media status quo.

  • How in the FUCK is this Racist?

  • Well, Bill Cunningham was affiliated with the McCain campaign back in February when he was making a big noise about Obama's middle name. To McCain's honor, he denied any knowledge and distanced himself from him (though it would have been political suicide not to), but the campaign made a mistake, and has to live with it.

If Obama misspoke and equated John McCain to McCain's campaign, he made a mistake he should live with as well.

  • i guess a lie doesn't have to be consistent.

  • ...and parsing "black" out to the unclever euphamoism, not-president-on-dollar-bill-looking.

it seems the mccain campaign let it slide the first time he pushed that button.

what's funny about your failed appologia for obama's use of this cheap tactic is that you have to deny that he's obviously talking about race when he rhetoricly puts his face on the dollar bill, while simultaneously claiming that mccain must be focussing on race when he makes the same juxtapostition.

  • but it was seven days earlier than that, on june 20th, that obama said this:

"We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. And did I mention he's black?" (watch?v=y4bx-ccbSic).

the two obama statements are pretty closely worded with the exception that he made the bogus accusation softer and less direct when he used it this past week, softening their "campaign" to an ambuguous "they"...

  • you have a chronology problem.

the mccain campaign is complaining about the unprovoked smear in the following statement, uttered by obama on july 31st:

"So what they are going to do is make you scared of me. You know he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like those other presidents on the dollar bills."

which you believe you've undermined by showing this ad released by the mccain campaign on june 27th (watch?v=CDTJDv4hevU).
