This is a shot of my oscilloscope displaying a raster which is warped with sine waves. The pickup camera is a 1970's orthicon security camera.

  • Your oscilloscope can display video???

  • With some external circuitry, most oscilloscopes can. You just need to have two synchronised sawtooth waves and a Z axis input on it to change the brightness of the beam. I've done it before, look at 'Oscilloscope Television' in my videos.

  • I wrote some software to display rasterized animated images directy on an unmodified scope using just stereo output. Search 'vimeo vintage oscilloscope' if interested.

The imagery looks much sharper on scopes less than 60 years old ;)

    Cheers.

  • rbairos1: Found it. That's one handsome oscilloscope!

  • This reminds me of Super Nintendo...

  • wicked!

  • Thanks. I came close to acquiring a wood panelled 1930's scope, but the seller has had little luck reviving it after it went dark a month or two ago. Awesome vids by the way. Love your channel.

  • Groovy man!

  • That's super cool!
