Yellowstone's red fox cleverly hunts for mice that it can only hear, not see, beneath the snow. From the "NATURE" episode "Christmas in Yellowstone." Academy Award-winning actress Linda Hunt narrates the film, which re-airs Dec. 21.

  • It's quite amazing that they can hear the mice; but what's REALLY amazing is how they can pinpoint them with such accuracy: when they do that dive, their mouth target area is only a couple of inches in diameter.

  • Foxes are even cute when they're hunting. :)
