Never take Doxycycline on an empty stomach. Get full, Have water, and then take it. My bottle said take either an hour before a meal... or 2-3 hours after a meal, which is wrong. I took it (by mistake) on an empty stomach and puked in about 10 minutes. My cousins have done the same and it works for them.

i'm taking doxycycline (generic) and it's been 2 months and a half and it slightly improved but not very much. Though I don't get it cystic anymore, i still get pimples in my jaw, 2 or 3 in my cheeks. How long more till this medicine starts working?! Should I add that DORYX cleared me 100% but after cutting treatment acne came back? I can't afford Doryx anymore so im obligated to take its generic version. help!!! when will it kick in? i've been taking it 2-3 hours after a meal is that wrong?

@ boredoflife227 No, but I'm taking it right now and it's helping. My cousin is on Accutane right now though, & her skin is perfect. Only take it if you have severe cystic acne though as a last resort.

@MrZamnizam Hi I saw your comment about how doxycyline really worked for your acne. I'm on retin a and its better, but still get breakout and still problems on my chest :( how long were you on Doxy and when you're off did it stop working? I'm just scared to go on something that stops working or ruins all the good bacteria in my system. If you have any advice I'd love to hear it, cuz I have the prescript from my dr. but he's a jerk & took 2 sec. to look, so I don't really trust him... thanks!

anyone know why?....i took this pill twice a day after the third day i began to have diarrhea then it went on for more than a week and two of those days were with blood, so i stopped taking this pill but its been 5 days after without the pill and i still have diarrhea, is it because of the pill or i just have a really bad infection? :( HEEEELLPPPPPP

Yes, you are right... I suggest and advice all of you to take Doxycycline with vitamin C or Vitamin E... I had try it and it hell yeah...well work... no more acne....it just gone with more fairer and clear skin....my doctor prescribed with with this combination of medication... Its well work!!!!!
