I think it is very possible, yes. As for Arcade Fire, they have stayed in Canada. It also depends on the genre of music. While it is possible to be successful as a rapper/hip hop artist in Canada, California is a better market. And as a matter of fact, I do believe Beiber still resides in Canada. As for Alternative, Indie, Rock, etc. It doesn't matter where the hell you're from, if you're talented, you will be discovered and you will succeed, if you try. It's not the 1970's anymore.

Yes, Hollywood is in California. But I'm saying, if you're a talented musician looking to be discovered, there is no need to move anywhere. Once they are discovered, then they can choose to go to Hollywood, New York, etc. but there isn't a need to, not anymore. IE, Nickelback, dicovered in Alberta, Justin Beiber and Drake, discovered in Ontario, Arcade Fire, discovered in Quebec. Four of the biggest stars in the world. Discovered right here in Canada.
