hand feeding my cockatiel for the 1st time

its been 11 days since i got my cockatiel...and now after 4 days of trying to get him to eat from me he finaly did!!!
=D

..and yeh he had some trouble climbing the cage wall, but he made it =)

TIP:
1. keep putting ur hand into the cage so he will get use to u
2. do not try to grab or chase him around wiht ur hand/finger in other words ..
DONT Stress Them Out!
3. keeps offering food they like (millet) and eventualy they will come and eat it from u ..but dont move around too much ...u can do that after thye get use to ur hand being there

Thx for the reply it's been a month that you have repley till now I discovered he was a boy past the month he has been eating from my hand but yesterday he climb on my are for rthe first time put flew back to is cage..the the question I'm asking today is when I try to put my hand/finger he want to bite it is that natural? @gameslayeral yes it is natural … they do it sometimes out of habit (nature) and sometimes bc they are scared and sometimes when they are irritated

It's been 3 day that I put a millet in her cage she won't eat it any tips

Ive had him since fourth grade and now im in sixth i put my hand in and see what happens he always bites me!!! Got any tips?

my bird which just ran away yesterday used to come on my hand eat, play, sing etc.. i loved it so much and trained it hard then it ended up running away yesterday somehow :/ it was a cockatiel. I am getting one this saturday another cockatiel which is just a 4 week year old baby :D

@gameslayeral Hello! i've been given a boy cockatiel 1month ago from my next door neighbour his not tamed and he tries to bite me. He stopped biting me but until few days ago when i took him to the vets for a first check up the vet did such a bad job that scared my cockatiel and now his attacking everyone. Before he used to take bread of me now he doesn't do that! he takes lettuce of me now and then. he even chased my hand out the cage while i was fixing his toys, any advice please??

well you shouldnt really do this if he's not hand fed since born. so that might be why he never came to you

mine hates me and always tries to attack me but some reason he lets me hand feed him sometimes
