Israel must thank God that it never came face to face with pakistan air force..in 1973 arab israel war, few pakistan pilot fucked israel air force to the extent that they started crying that those pilots are not arabs....its not the machines or the old jet fighters that matter , its the men behind those machines that matters

This air fight is the proof showing USSR was backward in military technologies comparing to the USA. The F-15s, F-16s had been improved with new technologies from the information revolution which was happening in Western countries then. Until now, Russia is trying to catch up by purchasing Mitral ship of France, UAVs of Israel to learn new technologies from these countries.

The Syrians are stupid. They got their SAM batteries destroyed, so they launched their air force against the strike group.....opps, big mistake......strike group was escorted by the F-15.....Syrian Mig 21 and 23's fell like flys out of the sky.

How refreshing not to read any Arab comments on how Syria destroyed IAF aircraft, and such. Because it didn´t happen. Syria based its defense on fixed SAMs and a central radar to guide its air force. With these gone Syrian aircraft that scrambled were an easy prey. What was the reason? Hard and intensive pilot training. Good weaponry too. Syrians were wrong in doctrine, strategy and tactics!
They could also have avoided the combat! A political mistake too! Will they repeat it in 2011? Maybe!
