Watch Nathan Winograd's appearance on Rescue Roundtable. We are a nation of animal lovers. But the shelters we expect to provide dogs and cats a second chance are instead killing five million of them. And for far too long, we have been told that the killing is exclusively the public's fault. That shelters --through no fault of their own--are merely performing the public's dirty work--with skill, compassion, and dedication. Nothing could be further from the truth. • I've read Nathans book Redemption and I applaud him for all he does for these animals. Bravo.

  • I LOVE Nathan!! I used to be in favor of killing feral cats, and had the AUDACITY of calling myself a cat lover. Now I really understand how feral cats fit into the ecosystem and how we can manage them without killing them. Thank you Nathan!!!

  • @TaylorNewSong a group of packaging.

  • How many of these shelters are lying about their numbers? I know of some shelters that are quick to say that an animal is dangerous when infact, they have mild behavior issues. I also am curious how TNR programs affect local wildlife populations...such as birds.

  • The US needs a mandatory spay and neuter law. TNR is full of fail, im sure URI is a very humane way to die. And any dangerous animal for public safety should be PTSed. You cant adopt out every animal that comes through a shelter door. There are just not enough good homes, would you really want to give a cat or dog to someone that lives in government or low income housing they cant afford to take care of themselves how would they take care of a animal. Spay and Neuter is the answer.

  • I'm with Nathan and have been from the beginning since he began, he deserves more credit than he gets as HSUS, ASPCA, American Humane, PETA, and others fight him all the way. Look up Oreo's Law in NYC, and you will find these highly funded groups fight adamantly against the no killing of animals. They also claim credit for the successful shelters who put in place Nathan's recommendations.while fighing him every step of the way, look up Austin shelters, you will see. Kudos to Nathan!

  • T/N/R is the solution to our failure for cats!

  • Thanks so much for showing this excellent video.

  • I LOVE you Nathan...TRULY AWESOME work!!!

  • Having been involved in animal advocacy here in Las Vegas for over five years, I can attest to the plethora of pathological liars opposing No Kill. The Pro-Kill shelter propagandists are running scared. No Kill programs work, period. Look at SF SPCAS (before Ed Sayres took over), Thompkins, County, NY, Reno, NV, Charlottesville, VI, and Austin, TX. There is no excuse for the blatant deception of HSUS sycophants nor for shelter management mediocrity when it comes to caring for shelter animals.

  • @TaylorNewSong I think it's beyond Christmas gifts. . . the two (one drunk plus a puppy mill supporter=something far worse than Christmas gifts.

  • @VegasKJV Oh, man, dude, you haven't the foggiest. His book (neither the first nor the second have ever made it to any best sellers list)--you either buy it from Wino or you buy it from your local puppy miller. Winograd no longer has a bar license, and is frustrated and perturbed at a system that works much better than his, and he can't get a job to save his soul. Apparently, YOU need the reality check.
