In this tutorial, A.J. demonstrates the updated 3D feature in CS5 called Repoussé (repousse). This option allows 2D objects to be converted into 3D meshes.

  • question.... i don't have in my menu of cs5 anything about 3D button....

so 1) why? and 2) how can i get it?

  • @ErimoKaravi - there are two versions of Photoshop. One is Photoshop CS 5.5 Standard Edition. The other is Photoshop CS 5.5 Extended Edition. The Extended comes with the 3D tools. If you tell me you do not have a 3D menu, without seeing your machine I would venture you have the Standard Edition.

  • i have adobe photoshop cs5 extended edition and the 3d button, but i don't know how i can activate the repouseé.

  • @MiloTheGhost - thank you for the comment. I've added an annotation at :41 you need to CMD+Click (Mac) or CTRL+Click (PC) the thumbnail icon for Layer 1 to load the layer as a selection. My apologies for not highlighting that step.
