Remember Ron Paul supporters telling us how well their candidate did in all of those internet polls following the televised debates. They told us how much he was going to do than Rep. Tancredo. Now, the Ron Paul supporters have excuses as to why Rep. Tancredo beat their candidate in the Iowa straw poll. I'm sure they will have more excuses when Tom Tancredo beats Ron Paul in the Iowa caucuses. Can't trust those people operating the voting machines. They are all out to get Ron Paul.

From Fox News: Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul — who is campaigning as a critic of congressional overspending — has revealed that he is requesting $400 million worth of earmarks this year.

The Wall Street Journal reports Paul's office says those requests include $8 million for the marketing of wild American shrimp and $2.3 million to pay for research into shrimp fishing.

But it wasn't his credentials as an educator that interested Education Secretary William Bennett, but rather Tancredo's social conservatism and his belief that the federal government's involvement in education should be downsized. In his four years with the Department of Education, Tancredo shrunk the office staff in Denver from 225 to 60 employees.
