This Friday kicks off with a review of The Surrogates. This is currently being made into a film starring Bruce Willis, so be sure to check out why Pete loves this comic so much. Next up it's a review of the new original graphic novel Contraband. Is it possible for mobile video voyuerism to go to far? Alex, Justin, and Pete discuss this speculative look at our near future.

Don't miss this sneak peek at next month's Life Sucks by Jessica Abel. Alex loves the world Life Sucks creates, and Justin can't get enough of Abel's work. Be sure to check out this book when it's released next month.

Finishing off this episode of The Stack and leading you into the weekend, the boys discuss horror and science fiction in graphic novels. See why Alex, Justin, and Pete think that comics don't deal with really big issues as much any more.

Be sure to send your comments or questions to tips@pulpsecret.com and stay tuned for next week's episodes!

  • OK so I just watched this and thought it was badass. The Movie Dir . com is where I watched it.

  • The Surrogates comic fucking SUCKS

Anything the movie does will be better because the comic is so bad

  • I hate you guys! what ever happen to comic book orange?

  • fallen angel by peter david deals with a big idea. I love that book

  • I think it has a chance to grow a lot. I am planning on writing a graphic novel and I am now looking into comics when I never would have before.

  • The thing is, comic market today is so is small that there is just not place for big ideas, it is just hard enough to keep old characters and universe going on so big ideas take secondary place, and since the industry never grows in number of readers, big ideas appear so very rarely, take a look at Vertigo Comics, they are just about big ideas but the majority of new books end up being canceled, so there you go,as long as there are so few readers big idea comics will remain a minority.

  • Thank you. :)

  • Pete Smash~!
