Affirmative Action & Barack Obama

I hear people arguing that Obama was elected simply because he's Black (well, Black AND White). They fail to see they're using their own argument against themselves. If Obama was White, these people would not think to ever question his intelligence and hard work that put him in office.

Judging from that comment, you think that even mentioning race perpetuates racism...that we're all humans and we shouldn't see race...that Affirmative Action only continues to use race. And that's racist?

If you think you don't see race, you're wrong. We are all socialized in the US to see race rather saliently. I will bet you that if I was White, you would react to me quite differently. You may still disagree with me, but you would most definitely have a difference reaction to my RACE.

I saw what you were trying to say. Racism as you see is a 2 front problem. AA can only address the one issue of how you seemly treat minorities. The other? How you think about them?  Unless you use mind control some will think of only how will this hurt my side. I have yet to ever hear any native american argue that some black beat them out on some job. Or even a black saying that an asian took their college spot. Funny that.

if Obama gets elected again, then it will be because of lazy bums who sit on their asses all day receiving welfare from Obama, and women will play a great part in the election as well. every house should have one vote for who is president. that vote should go to the man. men are supposed to be the leader of the house and women have an important part as well. but that part involves no authority over the house whatsoever

in today's society the media is way to overprotective of races that are not white. Actually if Obama was white he would not be president. Obama was chosen to give the keynote speech for John Kerry back in 2004. Obama was chosen to give the speech because he was black; John Kerry's keynote speech was with the backdrop of Martin Luther King's I have a dream.. At that time Obama was the only person running for a senate seat who was black. Obviously Obama was the only choice they had. Obama gave the keynote speech eloquently reading the teleprompter and the rest is history.

90% of blacks still support Obama, while the rest of America only supports him by %40-50.. There's a lot of racist black people voting for Obama solely because of his skin color.

Obama is merely a corporate pre-selected puppet, doesn't really matter what color he is, he's a corporate spokesman. Military covering up BP's mistakes.. Goldman Sachs, Chase bank puppet.

Whites have been here for hundreds of years now. Just like the Japanese have been in Japan for a long time. Don't they get any kind of "points" for being here, just like the Japanese get points for being in Japan for a long time?

Naturally, they are wealthier, but you dont' see all the hard work it took to get there.

I know Japanese people who come here and their children go "back" to Japan to live. Asians have a choice. They are not forced to live here. Asians in Japan and other countries likewise are not easily granting special favors to their new immigrants.

Why should they?
