@G1NZOU oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, cool. So I can turn it off remotely too? Cause I don't wanna overheat my PS3 by not being able to turn it off. Thanks for the info man, you answered 99% of my questions!
@iudfagajg You can't play PS3 games over remote play anyway, I use a PSP and I can play PS1 games but because of copyright reasons PS3 games and copy protected files won't work.
@rasuk If you can play online games on your PS3 then you're connected, all you do is enable the remote play settings and turn on automatic sign in, then leave it on standby (red light).
Wherever you are with your phone you'll be able to remotely turn on your PS3 and access content (PS3 games and DVD/Blu-ray movies not included).
@mgsisbest13 you can NOT play games with this feature.
You have to have internet on your phone or you have to connect to an access point. if you connect to a router (Access point) then it will not cost you anything.
But if you use the wireless 3G function, it will cost you data time. Which can vary pending on your carrier. If you have unlimited internet on your phone, it won't cost you anything for this connection either.
@rasuk Yeah, you can also turn it off too, forgot about that.
It took awhile for me to get all the settings sorted out but it should have step-by-step instructions on the PlayStation homepage.
Glad I could help.

PS3 doesn't. you have to have internet at your home and connect that to the PS3.
And then the phone will connect over 3G or WIFI.

As long as you have internet access, you SHOULD be able to remote play.
If your ISP blocks the port that it uses, then you may have some problems. But they don't generally block random ports.
How can you have wifi service without a router? I am confused on this.

@whatsatroll And oh btw how does the PS3 work with 3G?

@whatsatroll
Will it work if I just have a normal wifi service but no router?

@rasuk you can play anywhere with a wifi connection or 3g connection.
You will have to set up port forwarding on your router to the ps3 in order to connect over the internet though. Not hard. But an extra step.
