For better or worse, this story still makes people snicker at me today. Back in July 1986, I was a video photographer for KAMC-TV in Lubbock and would write news story packages occasionally to air on the weekends. This story took place in Meadow, Texas, where they honored one of their native sons, Sonny Curtis. I shot the video for this story and decided to shoot a standup in downtown Lubbock on an extremely hot Sunday afternoon. That explains why I am wearing shorts (it was 1986 and extremely short OP shorts were in style). Feel free to marvel at the creativity (doubtful) or laugh at the stupidity (probable). In the immortal words of then KAMC weekend anchor Scott Kamp, "Does Chip still have a job? I don't know."
