Maxine the Cow: Escape from Slaughter

Running for her life in the streets of Queens, NY, and with nothing to identify her as a sentient individual but instead, a sticker with a number that labeled her as just another food product in the assembly line at the slaughterhouse, a young cow was spared the butcher's knife. Rescued by Farm Sanctuary and named "Maxine," she will live out the rest of her days on luscious green pastures with other rescued animals, and will know that human compassion still exists somewhere in this world. It has to do with supply and demand. If we did not create a demand for meat, then there would be no supply, and animals would not be farmed for that purpose. The only reason animals are slaughtered, and meat, dairy, etc. is available at the store, is because consumers are creating a demand by consuming those products. Also, I'd rather not participate in the violence. By wearing leather, drinking milk, etc. I'm saying that it's morally acceptable to treat sentient beings like commodities.

There was once a bull who came from some farm, he was just some kids pet or something. He made a bid for freedom after watching his companions slaughtered and dismembered. He didn't make it.
