Did you see Pat Carroll's face when she saw Ursula? I think that sums up the whole ride :)

is this the same pat carroll who was an australian singer in the 60s?

Jodi Benson sounds much younger than she looks. It's always been that way.

@DiLancreRoyalty Oh my God, I totally see that. Little thing about Divine he only did drag while performing, never in real life. In real life he looked like a regular dude. I think he was dead by the time Little Mermaid came out, how honored he would have been to have seen a disney character inspired by him.

"Yes, indeed!" gave me a flashback to Ursula's same singing line o.O
-
"Come see The Little Mermaid attraction!"
I would LOVE to...small problem though, I live over the other side of the world. >_<

Anyone who creates clean stories and movies like this for children, by my book should be considered a saint. Amen?

@DiLancreRoyalty She was also inspired by Bea Arthur to some extent, and I think Poor Unfortunate Souls was catered around the prospect of having Bea as the witch. I almost suspect that Caroll was chosen due to her voice's similarity to Bea's. They do sound similar, although I'm glad Carroll was chosen. This is so cute, Ursula and Ariel are friends in real life.

wowee! nothing better than the 2 actresses themselves on their own ride! i'd sure wanna be in that car row with them!

@TaleSpinTV1990 No, it was a drag queen named Divine. Funny thing, but it was true. Even in the latin spanish version of the movie Ursula was voiced by a transvestite.

The inspiration for Ursula was Divine, the drag queen.
I wonder if Pat Carroll was inspiration for Ursula
