This was a Highpower Vintage (Bolt Action) Rifle competition that I competed at my gun club in 2005. The rifle that I'm shooting is a Swiss K31, 30 caliber, straight pull rifle. This rifle was manufactured in the 1930's and only 500,000 were made. Very accurate and powerful. I didn't have a sling at the time which would've helped my score.

  • There are still some left, but get them as soon as you can. I still see some at the gun shows and online dealers. The only downside is that the price has doubled, so get one now before the prices go up again. The Swiss only made half a million of them.

  • Nice rifle I'm thinking of getting one myself when funds are available. Did you purchase yours through the internet or through a local dealer ?

  • My first rifle I purchased at AIM Surplus, they are open to the public as well as an Internet and catalog dealer. I went to them directly at their open counter where you could examine the rifles. My second one I purchased at a Gun Show. All of these rifles will have some stock dents and dings, especially near the butt stock. This is due to the fact that the Swiss rested their butt stocks in the snow and kicked the snow off with their spiked snowshoes.

  • I purchased all of mine through a dealer. I usually go to Gun Shows to do some shopping.

  • Done like it oughta be done . Hope you hit what you were shootin' at . Ya should , it's a fine rifle .....

  • Yes, all of my shots hit paper. The rifle is more accurate than the shooter.

  • This nation was founded on marksmanship . Yeah , I've got an AK ...don't "bumpfire " . Every shot is well aimed , and deliberate . Your K-31 is a fine weapon . I hope you treat it as such , and devote the time required to use it to it's ( and your ) potential . If you think your gonna fail , you probably will .

Semper Fi till I die ...don't matter much what you shoot , if ya can't hit what your shotin' at .

  • That's good information to know. I love mine, but the ammunition is getting expensive. I guess it's time to start reloading.

  • The K-31 is my next. If there are any left.
