Ran out of room... I also wanted to say that your videos are awesome man! I wasn't trying to start with you or anything. Now that I have read more of the comments, I do believe you were talking about the LS2 GTO automatic. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the G8 GT would beat it in a race. The 6 speed auto in the G8 GT is so much better than the A4 in the GTO, with much better gearing like you said. My mistake.

The G8 GT has 39 less HP, 15 less TQ and weighs over 200 pounds more and has a less aerodynamic 0.35cd drag versus the GTO's more aerodynamic 0.31cd... That would make sense that the less powerful, less aerodynamic, heavier car is faster LOL. If you're talking about the LS1 GTO or LS2 GTO automatic, disregard my comment and I would agree with you there. I haven't seen the A4 GTO run the 1/4. The G8 GT wont beat the LS2 GTO 6 speed stock vs stock unless the guy can't drive.

@vh5ltr the 7.0 comodore there were only about 100 produced look it up it wasn't even labeled holden i believe and ya the 6.2 litre supercharged is beast but for the price of the same engine in the g8 gxp its more worhtwhile buyign the g8.

@yeti8102 the actual g8 sedan is lighter I sold the g8 and the G8 GT I know everything there nees to know about these vehicles. there not only lighter but they drive lighter as well and this slap shifter is amazing the only shitty thing about them was when they first came out did not offer a stick shift
Seeing how the trans is geared more aggressively in the G8 than the GTO, it should be no surprise the G8s accellerate faster. Again, not hard to drive an auto....step on the pedal, just dont sleep on the tree like here. G8 time was still faster. Don't base your own times or others 1/4 times because high DA always alters track times. Yes way a G8 takes a GTO, plenty of videos and slips to prove it on here. All those BS too?

@thunderup86....GTO curb weight is 3725 and G8 is 3950 so no GTO is lighter. The "slap shift" in stock form is pure shit...worse than a tempermental 700R4 w manual valve body...shifts when it feel like it, occassionally flares, and takes longer than a 60yr old granny. Once the TCM is tuned and Torque Management limited or removed, the 6L80 is a beast, and the "slap shift" is actually worthwhile.

well to be honest the actually holden built in australia, and you guys are only getting the babys, in aus there are a lot bigger versions including what you call a g8 as a 6.2 a 7.0 and they are about to bring out the 7.0 supercharged from factory, the gto was a 4 door sedan over here for a while before the turned it into a 2 door and the g8 is just the newer model of what the gto was as a sedan, its not a copy, its an upgraded model

Wouldn't call them babies considering they both offer 6.0 (L76 here and L98 there) and 6.2s (LS3s). No Pontiac doesn't have a W427 though...other than that they're basically identical, just rebadged...minus the availability of DOD on the GTs L76 which the L98 models don't have in Aus.
