I know I'm the minority here, but I think that Carter should have been with Abby Keaton instead, they seemed really great together. That, or Lucy, or Roxxane. I didn't really like him with Kem.

@ellajackson wtf? I'm Black AND French and I HATE Kem. It's not a problem of race. Kem was a fucking Mary Sue McBoring. Annoying as hell. That scene was sad and well played though.

Definitely one of the saddest moments of ER. I cry every time I see this. :'( And it truly shows that Noah is such a great actor.

Hell yeah, this all should have happened with Abby. Except of the miscarriage, of course. How perfectly they built the relationship of Carter and Abby and how easily they ruined it. Never got over it for the rest of ER.

Watching this, it's hard to believe that this is a fictional TV show and these people are just acting out a scene. Noah Whyle (sp?) is phenomenal.

Abby was chubby? Maura Tierney has always had a fit trained body. Look at the great features in her face.

it has absolutely nothing to fckin do with race, get over it you silly american people who always want to play the "its because race"card! kem is annyoing, this perfect, smarty skinny lady over chubby, funny, weird abby, i liked Carby because it was more original than carter ending up with this sophisticated french bitch that could speak two languages and has this stupid perfect veggie looking hippie look! Carby = uberCUTE and yes carter is my favorite but that has nothing to do with it

This whole episode is so hard to watch, it was truly heartbreaking and the actors were both exceptional. I happen to think that kem and Carter made a lovely couple and i agree that you could dislike a character regardless of race but i must say i agree with xRunnyBabbitx, that race is coming into play here a little bit, that you dislike Kem because she's the African girl Carter fell in love with and got pregnant when this should all be with Abby.
