No Sew Fleece Blanket (Various Sizes) Fabric should be at least 40 inches or wider (most are 54 inches wide).

Remember to prewash your material!

Baby/Toddler - 1 1/2 yards (in both fabrics)
Child - 1 3/4 yards (in both fabrics)
Teen/Adult - 2 to 2 1/2 yards (in both fabrics)
Feel free to make your blanket (s) any size

Items needed: Scissors, tape measure or ruler and a 4" x 4" or 5" x 5" or 6" x 6" piece of cardboard (for your corner pattern)

You can choose the same pattern for both sides or a pattern and a solid for the other side.

Step 1: Lay your two pieces of fleece out on a table or floor (the back side of the fabric facing each other). If using printed fleece, make sure you see the design on both sides. Using straight pins, pin the material together. This is to keep your blanket in place as you work.

Step 2: Trim with scissors all the way around to make sure that they match exactly. Try not to cut more than two inches off and to make it as straight as possible (but it's not a big deal if not).

Step 3: Now, at each corner, cut a four to six inch square indent into the corner. Depends on the size of blanket. (Save your fleece pieces for future crafting!)

Step 4: Cut through both pieces of fabic 1" wide strips about Four or Six inches deep, again depending on the size of your blanket. Continue on all 4 sides of your blanket. Remember the strips don't have to be exactly 1" but close in size.

Step 5: When you are finished, start at one corner and begin to tie the fringe of the two layers together. Tie the first knot -- then the 2nd knot on the first set of fringe. The fringe should lay neatly. Tie several knots on one side of the corner and then several on the other side of the corner, should have a perfect corner. Note: the knots should secure the fabric but not bunch it.

Step 6: Once you have tied all the way around, you can remove your pins!

You have just made a blanket with no sewing! These are basic instructions, I don't always stick to them, kinda wing it depending on the blanket and who it's for.

Note: Wash on gentle or delicate cycle and dry on low or fluff cycle. (at least that's what I do)

All items I bought with my own money.

  • @familymatters1234 Thank you very much! When my sewing room is done I might make more videos. I'm always making something. lol

  • I love it when people are crafty!

  • @dreamer72fem Thanks Stacey!!

  • @yoyomax12 Tammy, you are very creative and I know you will put your spin on your blanket. I first started making them for people in wheelchairs, a tad smaller but it kept them warm and they are easier to care for. I made them bigger for toddler beds too. Also I love that a child could make this with a little help !
