  • This is some of the greatest free advice that I have ever received in terms of composing a song. Incredibly thankful for what is being offered inside this video. Its helped me understand so much more about how a song should be composed and how the structure can really affect the whole track. Its hard to find such great advice being 14 and not having any musically inclined adults around me. Appreciate it much!

  • "testicular fortitude"... great term

  • Very useful. Everyone should listen to this.

  • I think instead of looking at all these lyric writing videos I should actually go write some l lyrics.

  • fantastic! thanks!!

  • So nice. So so nice.

  • Amazingly useful....

  • I know Stephen and his wife and daughters personally. I took banjo lessons from him in Denton, Texas in the early 1980's. He even let me sit in with my banjo with his band even though I was HORRIBLE. Stephen just played louder to cover for me. He and his wife Susan are some of the most wonderfull people that God ever made.

  • I am so lucky to have been a student of Stephen's back in the 80's. While finishing a degree at UNT (Texas) he taught private music lessons. I was fortunate to find him for private guitar and banjo instruction at a local music shop. I remember seeing him each Saturday morning for my lesson and being in awe of his musical talent. I always said I would hear about him again someday. I guess I can say I knew him when........ I feel so blessed. What a talented guy! Denise

  • what a great interview. ive learned more about music than i have ever known in my life.

  • I'd love to meet you, Stephen. Thanks for the advice ! Hope to catch up with you in the future some time.

  • Great Stuff ! Give me more of this Guy !
