  • based on the characters dialogue. a good student film should have more visual elements that guide the story along. be aware of the continuity of the story. try to establish a clear direction of the characters in the chase scene, because quite frankly they seemed to be all over the place. i dont know how far along you are with this movie but these are all things you deffinetly want to take into account when making this movie. all in all, it looks like you have the willpower to do this. good luck!

  • this space is always in the directiion the character is facing, because the character should never be facing straight ahead, as it looks like he/she is looking at the camera. all that really matters is the direction his eyes are facing, establish your breathing room that way. as far as camera work goes, its good that your using a tripod. the begging shot established what the story was about, which is very good. although im still not clear on whats going on because the storyline is completely

  • to make your story legitimate, its probably a good idea to include less dialouge and action. face it, students are not actors or stuntmen. Also, you don't have a boom, which is absolutely imperative when making a movie with any dialouge, unless its a CU shot of the character, then, depending on your camera, you can get away with not having a boom. When framing the characters in the shot, make sure to give them some breathing room, meaning there is an empty space taking up about 2/3 of the frame

  • theres a few things you should think about;

    give the characters some arc by putting in cut ins and cut outs. cut ins establish show the characters emotion and and cut outs help out the viewe by showing certain props there are pertinent to the storyline. any movie you watch, you will notice that the antagonist always enters from the right side. this is because our brains are customd to reading from left to right. entering from the right makes us uncomfortable, there deciding our opinion of them.
