I dont understand why the citezens of America would really believe there own country would do this, attack their own national symbols to go invade a country that now and then most people thought was a waste of time. @jakiner No, the taliban wasn't even around then. You're thinking of the mujahideen. We only supported them because we didn't want the Soviets to take control. We helped them but they didn't repay us with kindness. They were already there we didn't create anything. They wanted to attack us because bin laden didn't want us in muslim countries.

Our government created the Taliban secretly in the 1980s underneath Reagan and the C.I.A. to fight the russians. It's called covert operations. Look up Iran Contra.  Same thing. We sold arms to Iran (a muslim country) and they used the money to support rebels in Nicaragua. You're just a typical American believing all the hype.
