This is our setup for harvest. Wet bin got a little too small over time, so we turned the shed into a temp. storage. I know it looks like a lot of augers, but we've never got docked for breakage yet. No need to change yet.

  • Why do you have so many augers? Why not eliminate 2 of them by dumping straight into the wet bin? More augers= more splits. They will have to go through 2 more of your own before going to town.

  • That's what we used to do, but our combines cut more beans than the setup could handle. The pile in the shed is a buffer. It will be like this until we can put up a bigger wet bin. I agree with you on the splits, but our beans seem to be good enough cause our buyer pays us extra to have our beans.

  • Gotcha. I was thinking that might be the case, but wasn't sure. Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

From your other comment, do you cut back on the fan speed or open the chaffer more to keep more of the weed seed in the grain tank, then finish cleaning at home?

  • I keep the fan speed relatively high. These machines are not known for big air volume anyway. I open the chaffer just enough not to overload the return elevator. I do have weeds going out the back, but I keep what I can. If conditions get moist, then I would rather have them out the back than staining the beans. It's give and take.

  • If you would have a newholland combine, you won't need to clean your soybeans with a cleaner.

  • I could probably get cleaner, but the point is to get the weed seeds out of the field. You may choose to replant them. Sometimes we get escapes that we can't do anything about. Not always.

  • hi, is very interesting this video...I have a proyect with grain elevators like these, consist in providing energy an each grain elevator with solar energy...using solar panels...has heard about this idea or something like this elsewhere?..what´s the power (hp) of one motor like in the video?...5-7 hp? really I don´t know...thanks!

  • I know batco has belt elivators so that might be cheeper than a new wet bin and easier on the grain.

  • any combine can do that

  • Walinga Agri-Vac

  • yea i think your cleaner slows the flow down the most
