I agree with everything... except that last sentence.

Railguns are most definitely not cheap - in their current state they are so large and power-hungry that they can only be used on ships or vehicles. Even laser weapons require tremendous amounts of power to be used to actually kill someone, or they will diffract in the air and become useless. Such weapons would be a logistical nightmare.

Gunpowder, unfotunately, is here to stay.

FCS another US faliure and total loss of tax money.

US already has some of the advanced weapons the only problem being is that taliban can make weapons that can kill for like a 1$.

Pipe bombs filled with nails and screws, slingshot that can shoot arrows or bolts (flechettes) which are also silent and easily conceled and accurate. Not to mention vast array of IED's.

If only americans would realize that age of gunpowder is ower and we should move on coil or rail guns its much cheaper.
