    You don't have to tighten up the slip knot. Just keep it loose and treat it like any of the other chains. If you tighten it up, then you get a hard bump in your work.

    Brilliant! I have been making three strand slippers for goodness knows how long and have always taken apart my skeins and balled them up to three balls. I don't have to do that anymore. Thank you!
