A short clip from the very rare sequel to the 1980's documentary called 'The Boys On The Bus', about one of the greatest hockey teams in NHL history. Very interesting the situation surrounding the return of Gretzky to Edmonton. Found it on amazon...

  • Gretzky arriving with the obligatory fat bloke with a suitcase...or is that his wife lol

  • @ffryan You're right, there's no team that can be successful with too many chiefs and not enough indians.

  • @trulysarcastic I don't think it's only because of greed. It's how selfish a lot of the players have become. Putting together a bunch of great players doesn't necessarily guarantee victory. Especially when they all want to be the star. In the 80's it was a "we" oriented game. Now it's an "I" oriented game. As I watch the current final, with the dives and choppy play, I see how the game really has deteriorated since the 80's.

  • i wanna see this whole documentary post it! great stuff :)

  • Great doc!!

  • why was he traded?

  • @trulysarcastic i know its sad....in Edmonton's case it was their owners own money problems with his other businesses that basically caused him to "sell"(he got 15 mil US in the trade) his only remaining asset Gretzky and eventually the rest of the stars on the team for less and less in return....if you think of the all the talent on the those two teams back in the 80's and put those same line ups on the ice today theres no way they fit in under the cap in terms of their value in todays NHL

  • @vardiss22 unfortunalety because of greed/money we'll never see a dynasty like the Oilers or Isles again. The wings are close, they're always competing for the cup

  • Thankfully Sather's talent as a GM salvaged the Gretzky for Carson deal by using the lame duck Carson as trade bait to land Kilma, Murphy and Graves who played no small part in getting another Cup win in 90 and ensuring that the Oilers didn't get completely screwed by Pocklington and McNall....thks Glen
