Illuminated Force field Generator/Engineering Tool from Star Trek: The Next Generation

(Paramount-TV, 1987-94, 1995-2001) Cast resin triangular device with flashing LED lights and illuminated acrylic screen operated by a switch. First used as a force field generator in the TNG episode, "The Most Toys," the device became a medical instrument—healing device, scanner, and dermal regenerator—used by Dr. Crusher (Gates McFadden) in subsequent TNG episodes. Reconfigured with a small circuit board added to the front screen area, the device became an engineering tool used by B'Elanna Torres (Roxann Dawson) in the Voyager episode, "Dreadnought." Built by Rick's Props and measures 5" in length.
