The Spitfire Merlin does indeed sound fine. But IMO its trumped by the Centaurus of the Sea Fury which also gives an even better display too.

What is the music? It sounds like a British version of Wagner's 'Meisternsänger von Nürnberg'. Is it something by Edward Elgar?

V12 Merlin vs Background music, , , no contest. There has never been a finer sound than that of a V12 Merlin running at full chat growling across a sky (blue of course).

Brilliant video but like so often its wrecked by the music.The music we want is the sound of the Merlin.

I hear what you're saying about the Merlin. The DVD (like all of our new releases) features a non-narration + non-music soundtrack for diehards like you and me ;)
