Now this is my first Tidus/Yuna video. Because it's my first, and since I didn't like FFX very much and didn't pay alot of attention, this was really hard to make. :( There were limited FMVs and because of that and the serious and melodramatic tone of the video, it was extremely difficult to put together. I was inspired to do this after watching another Tidus/Yuna MV with Zhang Liyin and Xiah Junsu's song Timeless, but this is nowhere near that standard. xD
Because Timeless is a song that sounds like it was meant to be in a drama, I chose Marriage because the melody and voices are just so goddamn tear-jerking, and the lyrics, along with the official MV, really make you want to cry. The female singer in this song, though I like her, I wanted to find the version with Solbi since her voice conveyed more emotion, but I guess she only performed it once, and it was live. Oh well.
Okay, so the story is very close to that of the official video of this song, I found there was no other way around the lyrics. xD Let the melodrama begin...
Yuna is terminally ill and with the short time she has left, she finally accepts her fate of dying young. However, she meets Tidus and the two fall in love. They live together blissfully and Tidus eventually proposes, oblivious to Yuna's illness. Distraught over her love and her fate, Yuna rejects the proposal, leaving Tidus confused. One day he finds Yuna crying as she holds his ring, repeating over and over that she's not ready to go.
Tidus finally finds out about her illness, and is devastated. He watches, helpless, at the woman he loves, feeling that he is the cause of her distress, because she now doesn't want to accept her fate because of her love for him, and that he has nothing to offer but pain because of that. Tidus wonders if the time they were together, Yuna was sad knowing they would have to part, but Yuna tells him she was happy with him. She tells him not to blame himself, and that all she needs is to spend her last days with him, that she just needs him to comfort her.
As she becomes weaker, Yuna tells Tidus she wants to get married. They hold a large ceremony and finally seal their love. They sit together on their wedding night and stare at the moon, reminiscing the good times together, and Tidus begins to cry. Yuna watches sadly, but tells him that now they're finally married, and that nothing can separate their souls. As they hold their weddings rings, Yuna collapses and dies in Tidus's arms. He stops crying and stares at her face for one last moment, then carries her body away. Carries the body of his new wife away.
Because of the lack of usable scenes, please pretend that Shuyin is Tidus, Ashe is Yuna and Rasler is Tidus. The wedding scene fitted so perfectly, and the song really flows through. Even though I think I could have done better, this MV is acceptable enough. :) I think I'll try my hand on FFX again soon.
