How big is the small?
A simple calculation is enough.
In a glass of water there are more than 6 x 10^23 molecules.
If each molecule has close to a nanometer of diameter
And we build a chain of the thickness of a single molecule with all the molecules in that glass of water,
We can go from 1023 times 10-12 Km to 1011 km,
That is, enough to cover a thousand times the distance to the sun
