Anyone get the sense Meryl Streep was thinking "Fuck, I want this to be *my* tribute!"

Parker & Matthew Broderick introduced Cook's segment and narrated her bio. See Part I.

It's been bugging me since you pointed it out so I googled. According to Ms. Cook's Wikipedia page and playbill.com, it was Anna Christy, and she sang "Glitter and Be Gay." I wonder why they cut it from the airing.

I thought so, too, but it's not for even in the end, one can see that Sarah Jessica is all the way on one side of the stage as this gloved singer is on the opposite side of the stage. She must have been edited out before the airing on TV. At and, when they left their arms to Cook, you can see Parker on the screen, to the far left, this woman is on far right. Bothering me that she was cut and I've no idea who it is. Like an itch that won't go away, when I am watching the video, not always.

I believe it's Sarah Jessica Parker. This is actually part two of the tribute the first being verbal and film clip rememberances of Barbara's life and the impact she had on Musical Theater. Sarah and her husband Matthew Broderick were part of that section.

You can say that again, and again. 5 times for each Tony, won before her 43rd birthday! Now tied with Julie Harris and Angela Lansbury for most Tony's and not all for singing roles, but also str8 drama. All are; 'Carousel, Master Class, Ragtime, Raisin in the Sun, Porgy and Bess', in that order! Married to Will Swenson of 'Hair' fame and a gorgeous couple they are. Both are gorgeous,..the new 'Marin Mazzie/Jason Daniely, for B'way buffs. Some day, she;ll be given this award, herself. Just Watch!

Must be an amazing feeling to have almost every Broadway leading lady there to sing for you, songs that you made famous!? 'Candide' was so beautiful, Meryl was weeping. One thing? I didn't see this live, but there is an extra woman on stage that we don't see sing, here. After Laura's song and before Rebecca and Kelly, can see her moving to the right. At end, she's on the right w/full length gloves. Count them! Any ideas? Love Ms. Cook and don't think she'd be so good without those 'dark' years.
