The Witch Doctor is based on African Shamans, who originate from Central and South African ngamas, who have existed for so long we don't know where it began. Why you think "witch doctors" appeared in the Middle East is beyond me. The Middle East has no equivalent to witch doctors. Sun, Earth, etc worshipping happened in the Americas, Africa, etc.Nothing to do with the Middle East.
