http://www.DadLabs.com - In this episode of The Lab, Daddy Clay and Daddy Brad discuss and important 50/50 parenting issue, holding an infant. Will mom tolerate dad demanding his fair share of baby holding? If dads can manage to get themselves named Official Baby Wearer, then they stand a fighting chance. Along with discussion, the dads demonstrate a great baby carrier that is perfect for fathers of a newborn baby. Watch and see how easy it is to use this baby sling with your babies. DadLabs ep 493 is brought to you by BabyBjorn. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • My mum told me that when me annd my brother were babies, our dad used to let us sleep on his chest the entire night. ^_^ No crotch dangles, but pure arm muscle. Lol But this vid is cute!

  • say no to crotch dangles...all that impact on their developing spine:( ouch.

try a mei tie or boba!

  • I'm not a fan of the crotch dangling carriers (there are so many better options out there), but this video was pretty cute!

  • I appreciate we were not the norm, but I never could understand why this is a problem. We shared involvement with our little one very naturally.

I suspect this probably emanate from men's sensitivity from being long-since browbeaten by their wives (and females in general) for having no finesse or subtle-awareness.

Perhaps moms-to-be should go out of their way and praise their men for their gentle touch before the baby arrives to create such fatherly contact with the fragile baby.

  • hey... I always let my hubby hold the baby... especially if I knew it was about time to change the diaper... lol.

on a more serious note... slings and other carriers can help dads feel more confident.

  • When I was a baby, my Dad was scared to hold me. My Mom actually had to coax him into doing it. She was more than happy to share 50/50 snuggle time!
