This is a sneak peak at a proposed, wind powered, student recreation hall by the Academic Billiards Collective for the town of Indian Springs, Nevada. Located 20 miles NW of Las Vegas, Indian Springs is home to Creech Air Force Base and the Indian Springs Casino. The Academic Billiards Collective (ABC) outfits secondary schools with all the necessary equipment to host billiards clubs which can compete with other schools' billiards teams. Billiards is a novel way to teach geometry and physics, critical thinking and planning ahead.
An ABC rec hall is an ideal way to motivate students to stay in school, improve academic and behavioral performance, raise money for arts programs (if running the ABC pool program), get tax breaks, reduce electrical bills for the entire campus , reduce carbon emissions, and educate about renewable energy. In addition schools can position for REC (renewable energy certificates) trading to generate revenue through net metering.
When this prototype is complete in Indian Springs, the ABC will make similar facilities available throughout the US, retaining Indian Springs as it's base of operations and home of summer billiards clinics. One wind turbine, 7 computer terminals, and 2 advertising spaces on the quonset structure itself, are still available for sponsorship opportunities for any organization seeking national media attention for social responsibility.
If you'd like to support this effort or would like the ABC to bring you business by hosting a pool tournament in your casino or bar call 702-466-6216.
