We drove out to Gerlach Nevada to launch off some Little payloads we built. The payloads have a bunch of sensors and cameras on it to log the mission. At the bottom is a big pink "tampon" which is the telemetry package. We decided to track the balloon which is suspected to fly at about 300mph eastward in the jetstream and will ascend until it pops. We left Gerlach at like 5:00am, in the freezing cold and filled up the ballon with even more freezing helium and we let it loose. We tried to follow it in our cars, driving 75mph on dirt roads, but it's hard to chase something that flys freely West-East over North-South mountains. The balloon reaches a height of 85,321. There will be pictures from the sides and an upward view of the balloon as it ascends, and the parachute as it descends.
